Under the Blanket

IMG_8710Long weekends are a great time to release stuff that has been “hidden under the blanket” because most people are not watching, thinking more about their weekend plans or maybe tonight’s Hot Date. Well, devious dispatchers of distress, beware because the ever alert Ty O’Really has been on the watch for your dastardly deeds and is sounding the alarm!

  1. Frank Luntz tells us that Trump supporters are not just angry. They want revenge. We did not know that Luntz was a Debbie Wasserman Schultz operative. While I have met many of The Donald supporters, those are invariably angry and want change. But seeking revenge? Come on, Mr. Luntz, we are not talking Black Lives Matter here!
  2. Ted Cruz is “Too Conservative to Win” and the Goldwater Talking Point: The Demoturds and Enlightened Press will always refer to the true Conservative as a Goldwater Clone, bound to lose by huge margins. Last one that got that title was Regan, and we all know how that turned out. Also, Cruz is being touted as “too conservative” by repeat-loser Rick Santorum.

  3. now, the biggy:California Starts No Notice Gun Confiscation On January 1 Yes, you read that right.

    Via The Washington Times:

Gun-safety legislation going into effect in California next week will allow authorities to seize a person’s weapons for 21 days if a judge determines there’s potential for violence.

Proposed in the wake of a deadly May 2014 shooting rampage by Elliot Rodger, the bill provides family members with a means of having an emergency “gun violence restraining order” imposed against a loved one if they can convince a judge that allowing that person to possess a firearm “poses an immediate and present danger of causing personal injury to himself, herself or another by having in his or her custody or control.”

A “friend” or “family member” (read that as angry neighbor or deranged and embittered ex) notifies the cops. The cops then ask a judge for a 21-day “temporary restraining order.” This is important. The people who make the allegation never have to appear in court. They only need to convince the police to go to a judge who is, no way possible, going to refuse the restraining order. At the end of that time, the restraining order can be extended for a year after a hearing. That one year can be repeated indefinitely. Can you give your weapons to a friend or family member for safe keeping? No. The police must hold the weapons for the duration of the restraining order. Oh, yeah, they serve you with a search warrant at the same time so they can “look for firearms.”

  4. As soon as next year, a driver’s license may no longer be enough for airline passengers to clear security in some states, if the Department of Homeland Security has its way.

Passengers who do not have a compliant type of identification will have to produce another type of government-approved identification.

“This is a game of intimidation being played out between Congress and the federal government and state governments, with ordinary citizens being squeezed in the middle,” said Edward Hasbrouck of the Identity Project, a privacy advocate.
